Staff attorneys provide a wide array of high-quality legal services, from advice and brief services to full representation, advocacy, legal outreach, and legal education to protect the rights and represent the interests of the low-income community.
Applicants will be considered for opportunities in all areas of civil legal practice areas, including community economic development, consumer, education, employment, family, federal income tax, housing, probate, public benefits, and migrant farmworkers. Staff attorneys are required to work some evenings and weekends. Fluent in speaking and writing Spanish.

Hiring criteria
Member of the SC Bar unless otherwise waived as a requirement.
2. If not a member of the SC Bar at the time of hire, must become a member within the
designated timeframe from the hire date.
3. Must have completed all the rules and requirements set forth by the SC Bar and the SC
Supreme Court to practice law.
4. Knowledge of and litigation skills in judicial and civil procedures, substantive law, and
rules of evidence are required.
5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to maintain an
effective working relationship with clients, staff, courts, community representatives, and
the public.
