Job Title: Associate Attorney – Family Law

This position is located out of our Greenville, SC office, with flexibility for occasional hybrid work.

The Associate Attorney will manage a dedicated caseload of family law matters while working closely with a Senior Associate and the Firm Owner. You’ll play an active role in litigation, client strategy, and resolution — supported by a team that values professionalism, collaboration, and growth.

Key Responsibilities

Manage family law cases from intake through resolution, including discovery, motions, mediation, and trial preparation.
Conduct client meetings, provide sound legal counsel, and develop case strategies in collaboration with senior attorneys.
Draft pleadings, motions, orders, and correspondence with accuracy and clarity.
Represent clients in hearings, mediations, and other court proceedings.
Maintain detailed and contemporaneous time entries in the firm’s case management system.
Work closely with paralegals and legal assistants to ensure timely and professional completion of tasks.
Attend weekly litigation team meetings and participate in continuing education and firm development initiatives.
Represent the firm professionally in client and community interactions.

Hiring criteria

J.D. from an accredited law school and active license (in good standing) with the South Carolina Bar.
2–5 years of experience in family law or related civil litigation.
Strong working knowledge of South Carolina Family Court procedures.
Exceptional communication, writing, and courtroom advocacy skills.
A team-oriented mindset and willingness to learn from experienced attorneys.
Integrity, professionalism, and empathy for clients navigating sensitive issues.
