Hiring criteria

Qualifications & Requirements:
• Experience representing developers or other clients in complex commercial real estate and financing transactions
• Strong academic background
• Licensed in or willing to become licensed in South Carolina
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and work ethic
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and writing skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
• Professional demeanor and a team player with high degree of confidentiality
• Desire for involvement in and the betterment of our community and the legal profession
• Experience with economic development incentives (preferred but not required)
• Experience with SoftPro (preferred but not required)

Duties & Responsibilities Include:
• Draft, review and negotiate purchase contracts, leases, and financing, corporate and other documents for commercial real estate transactions
• Review title examinations, title commitments, title policies, and surveys
• Draft and respond to title objection letters
• Coordinate and conduct closings and post-closing documentation
• Advise and assist clients with land use and zoning issues
• Advise and assist clients with tax credit and other economic development incentives
• Advise and assist senior attorneys with matters and questions concerning commercial real estate
• Supervise paralegal and legal assistant staff
• Advise other firm attorneys on real estate matters
• Effectively organize and maintain client files
